Margherita Montes
Margherita Montes and I am a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athlete and instructor. Class of 1988, graduated from SUISM Scienze Motorie of Turin, Italy. I fell in love with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2011, in Turin. I tried a class out of simple curiosity, and from that day I never took my feet off the tatami. The path is long, often uphill, but without the struggle I would not be Margherita. As a purple belt, I move to live in the United States, Los Angeles, where my experience as a teacher began: children, women and mixed adult classes. Since returning to Italy, I have been training and teaching in Milan where I obtained my brown belt and then the long-awaited black belt. Belt that marks the end and the beginning of another path, because at heart we are always “white belts”. Where and What awaits me in the future I do not know, but the desire to learn, study, and to be able to pass on to others is endless.
